"What If?" coloring book

My re-entry into engaging with the creative part of myself kicked into high gear in December 2022. I’d wanted to write and illustrate a kid’s book for more than a decade, so I decided to create one as a Christmas gift for my best friend’s daughter. 

I had so much fun putting together the story, creating the illustrations, and the book itself. It was an added bonus that the recipient and her parents enjoyed it and folks who I shared the project with got a kick out of it as well. I decided to redesign the book to be available for kids of all ages to enjoy learning about careers and animals that are not often represented in children's books. 

I created "What If? A Career Exploration Coloring Book" around the premise of animals deciding to work human jobs. Adults often ask little kids what they want to be when they get older, and I wanted them to be aware of paths outside of which might be on their radar already. Since I have a ton of experience in career development and recruitment, it felt like an area I could speak to easily.

The book features information on the animals and careers so kids of all ages can learn about the world around them in a fun and informative way. The book features 26 main illustrations (one for each letter in the alphabet) as well as more than 50 smaller illustrations - all of which can be colored in by the recipient.
